Olympic Day, which annually takes place on June 23, is a celebration of sport, health and Olympism.
ISF and Olympic movement share a common goal of educating youth to contribute to building a better World using sport as a tool. The three Olympic values - excellence, respect and friendship, are regularly practiced in school sport and ISF events; Gymnasiade and World Schools Championships.
This year, ISF celebrates the Olympic Day by highlighting the importance of unity between Olympic movement and schools for a common goal of educating youth about the values of health, inclusion, mutual understanding, Fair Play and friendship.

On Olympic Day, International Olympic Committee (IOC) and its president Mr Thomas Bach invites everyone to be active and embrace the spirit of Olympism. Participants from all over the world commemorate the day the International Olympic Committee was founded in 1894. This year, due to Covid-19 pandemic, Olympic Day is celebrated through the world’s largest 24 hour digital-first Olympic workout. The initiative highlights the importance of staying active despite being at home and not having an opportunity to practice at the training facilities due to the lockdowns.
ISF spread this message through the ISF Stay Active campaign which supported high school students from all over the World to stay active and healthy while at home. More than 65 partcipants from all over the World joined the campaign, including four Olympians: Valentina Marchei (figure skater), Chika Chukwumerije (taekwondo), Giba (volleyball) and Marta Pagnini (rhythmic gymnastics).
