ISF President for Inside The Games: Sport must play a key role for the release of the lockdown

ISF President Laurent Petrynka contributed a guest post to Inside The Games, sharing his opinion that sport must play a key role for the release of the lockdown, particularly for schools and young generations.

With its health benefits, during the lockdown sport became a necessity. Many people went back to being more regularly active, some even took up sport for the first time.

ISF initiated an ISF Stay Active campaign which helped students and their parents stay active while being at home due to corona virus pandemic.

In his contribution to Inside the Games, ISF President gives emphasis to the importance of ensuring the upsurge in engagement in sport lasts beyond the lockdown.

He also highlights the importance of uniting the Olympic Movement and schools through a common goal of education, and gives example of Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games which are already reshaping the school system.

This is the message for the preparation of ISF’s main events, the ISF Gymnasiade, France Normandy 2022 and in the Russian Federation, Ekaterinburg 2024.
