Wednesday 10 November was the official start of competition for the 2nd edition of the ISF World Cool Games taking place in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The day began with the ‘welcome party’ during which Ukrainian School Sport Federation President and ISF Executive Committee member Roman Greba opened proceedings, welcoming all the delegations to the second edition of this ISF event.

Following on from Mr Greba, ISF Executive Committee member Abdoulaye Bamba Mbaye took to the stage to address the participants in the role of ISF Delegate for the event. During his speech, Mr Mbaye spoke about the unique format of the event, praising the preparational work of the Local Organising Committee. “This is a unique event in the international sports community, which aims to help school students develop their imagination and ambition by playing sports and establishing lifelong healthy lifestyle habits. I would like to congratulate my ISF colleague, the former Deputy Minister of Education of Ukraine, Roman Greba and his team, for their ceaseless efforts toward making this event happen and continue to grow.” He then concluded by officially declaring the event open.

Following on from the official proceedings, it was then the time for the first competition to begin. Taking part in the mixed teams’ event, the school student athletes competed in a number of relay events, and various other team physical activities. By the end of the day, the delegations discovered who their opponents were to be on day two.

The fun is not yet over for the day, as the participants will have the opportunity to take part in the Nation’s Night, with each delegation preparing their own unique presentations, in order to share with their fellow students, a unique part of their own culture, an occasion which strongly defines ISF events, no matter where in the world.
