The first ever ISF World Schools Championship Online Chess 2020 will begin on Saturday, 3 October 2020. Because of the global pandemic, this is the first ISF World Schools Championship, organised by ISF, in 2020.
ISF World Schools Championship Online Chess 2020 is an online event being held on the virtual competition platform Premium Chess.
The second final round, for the U17 category (date of birth 2003-2004-2005), will take place on 24-25 October 2020. The live broadcast will begin at 14:00 UTC.

ISF allocated the broadcasting rights to 1 Play Sports. The two organisations signed a partnership agreement to broadcast three rounds of competition (U17 qualifications and the finals) to the 1 Play Sports platforms: website, Facebook and YouTube channel.
Boys and girls from 37 countries and 5 continents will participate in the ISF World Schools Championship Online Chess 2020.
The players will be divided into two age categories: U17 (15 - 16-17) | date of birth 2003-2004-2005 and U14 (14-13) | date of birth 2006 – 2007.
Important Remarks:
- All players must register to the tournament before the starting time of the first round once they have logged in to Premium Chess Platform.
- After players logged in, they must register to the tournament with the name of: ISF WSC ONLINE CHESS 2020 – When you click on it please check details of tournament.
- It will not be enough to just log in to the platform. All players must also register to the tournament.
- It will not be possible to enter to the tournament after the first round has begun.
- There is an estimated tournament schedule but starting times of the rounds may differ due to the investigation of fair play rules.
- All players must follow the TC messages at the tournament platform. Technical information will be shared before and during the tournament by TC messages.
- After every round, the TC will make a check of the fair play rules and run a special anti-cheating program.
- The TC will inform participants of the estimated start time of the next round and will send a warning message 2 minutes before the start of the next round.
- After the round begins, if one of the players does not make any moves in 2 minutes, the platform will automatically end the match and will give the scores automatically due to the situation.
Fair Play rules
By registering to the tournament all participants confirm to have read and accepted these regulations:
- Players MUST NOT use any chess programs during the tournament.
- Players MUST NOT be assisted by other people during the tournament.
- Any player could be excluded from the tournament by decision of the ISF TC due to Fair Play rules. The TC can exclude players during the tournament or after the tournament.
- Special Anti-cheating detection software will be used by Premium Chess during the tournament.
- Additionally, admins will check games manually after every round.
- Players will register and compete with their real names and surnames.
- Tournament finals players must download and install ZOOM Client for Meetings. During all games, the TC will also check players through ZOOM. A player not being logged into ZOOM chat at the published start time of the match or turning OFF their webcam could result in a loss of game.
- Streaming through any broadcast platforms including Twitch, YouTube or other online streaming platforms is not permitted for participants during their tournament games.
- The ISF has the right to change the schedule, update the regulations or decide upon any matter that is not mentioned in the current regulations.
- The ISF would have no responsibility for any technical problems arising for players during the games but retains the option to pair any player for the next round.

- have a right to participate at ISF Summer Gymnasiade in Jinjiang (China) 2020 – 16th – 23th October 2021
- be awarded by one laptop
2006 – 2007
- have a right to participate at ISF U15 World Schools Games in Belgrade (Serbia) – 26th June - 4th July 2021
- be awarded by one laptop
First 8 ranked players in each age and gender category will get the ISF ranking certificate while all the rest finalist will get participation certificate
