Youth athletes from 29 countries came to Belgrade for a week-long tournament and the 2018 edition of the ISF World Schools Championship (WSC) in 3x3 basketball hosted by Serbian School Sport Federation.
The championship was co-organised by the Serbian Ministry of Youth and Sport and the Basketball Federation of Serbia, and endorsed by FIBA3x3.
The official ISF sponsors of the tournament were Creata and Kinder+Sport.
All matches were played at BelExpoCentar Hall, Belgrade.

After the successful cooperation in 2016 at the ISF WSC 3x3 in Estonia, ISF was honoured to cooperate with FIBA3x3 once again in order to promote and strengthen the World’s most popular urban team sport - 3x3 basketball - among School Sport youth.
The cooperation took place exactly two years prior to the launch of 3x3 at the Summer Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo.
It was also held a week after the FIBA 3x3 World Cup, held in Manila, Philippines, where team Serbia (men) and Italy (women) were crowned the 2018 world champion.
The great results of Serbia indicated Belgrade is a perfect host to welcome young basketball players from all over the World to evolve, learn and grow using school sport as a tool and giving their best in the world capital of 3x3 basketball.
We were certain many of the youngsters would be willing to follow the footsteps of their basketball idols and the newly crowned FIBA 3x3 champions; and we were right. ISF youth displayed a high level performance, good sportsmanship and fair play. The 2018 World School Championship was a great event which combined sport with education, intercultural exchange and friendship.
Russia and England are the 2018 World School Champions
Both teams brough on a powerful performance from start to finish. In boys category Russia finished on top of the podium ahead of France and England. Among girls, England took the championships title, while the silver and bronze medals went to Serbia and Chinese Taipei.

The Joy of Moving Trophy for Fair Play was awardred to team from Republika Srpska, while Sara from Serbia and Nikita from Russia became the winners of the dunk contest.

At the closing ceremony, India was handed over the ISF flag as the 2020 WSC in 3x3 is coming to Rajnandgaon and will be hosted by the School Sport Federation of India.
