ISF welcomes 5 new member states

Brussels, 15 July 2018 - On Sunday ISF Executive Committee held its meeting in Brussels, Belgium, where the EC members officially welcomed five new countries into the International School Sport Federation.

Comoros, Guinea, Lithuania, Mauritania and Nepal are now officially the members of ISF, raising the overall number of federation’s member states to 113.

2018 has undoubtedly been a record-breaking year for ISF.

Some of its 2018 milestones include:
- Breakthrough to Africa; first African School Sport Forum and African School Sport Federation Constitutive General Assembly (recently being held in Agadir).
- First multisport event for youth being hosted by an African country (Morocco) with the biggest youth athletes’ participation in the history of ISF
- 25 new countries joining the federation in 2018, marking a ground-breaking year for the development of School Sport.

New ISF member states:

Africa: Comoros, Guinea, Mauritania

Asia: Nepal

Europe: Lithuania

Incredible growth of ISF and School Sport globally indicates countries and sport stakeholders are more and more aware of the importance and values of youth sport. With 25 new members and four new sports and World Schools Championships awaiting for the 2018/19 season, ISF is solidly on its mission the achieve its ambitions objectives in accordance with a Vision 2030.
