Brussels, 13 September 2018 - ISF Executive Committee has appointed Mr Josip Košutić, Croatia, as the new ISF Sports Director.
Mr Košutić will oversee the work of ISF Technical Commissions (TC) and represent them within the ISF Sport Commission and ISF Executive Committee.
Josip Košutić has been an employee of the Croatian School Sport Federation since 2007. He gained his experience through several ISF events, hosted and organised by Croatia. Over the past decade, Košutić developed strong competences being an ISF Futsal Technical Commission President. His curriculum vitae also includes managing and coaching various futsal and football clubs. He has been involved with more than 30 ISF events over the past couple of years, also as a member of the organising committees.
Košutić graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture in Zagreb and attended various Olympic, UEFA and other academies, in the fields of sports leadership and management. He acquired a deeper and broader understanding of sport during his professional football career, playing in the Croatian first division and as a member of the Croatian National U21 team.
‘’My main goal is to put School Sport on the global sport map through the professionalisation of ISF’s biggest event: the Gymnasiade (ISF School Summer/Winter Games) and the development of the World Schools Championships in terms of sports and cooperation with the International Sport Movement organisations. Additionally, my aim is to include new formats and competition set-up, and further develop ISF Technical Commissions. I also believe that it would be important to organise more competitions for the younger generation of pupils (aged 13-15).”
“Regarding my role as an ISF Sports Director, I think the most important goal is to make School Sport and ISF events accessible to all pupils and students, and give them a unique opportunity to compete with their friends from different continents and countries. I believe that School Sport is a global platform for youth development in various areas such as education, health, volunteering and humanitarian work.’’
