The first ISF volunteers (16 young people from 15 countries) gathered for the first time during the ISF WSC Cross-Country in Paris to start the “Fun & Skills” project.

Since they had called for more education on ISF events (ISF Forum, Olbia, Italy), the Youth Council brought their project ideas to reality. Their “Fun & Skills” project aims at diffusing skills through sport and physical activities, which would provide school sport participants with more opportunities to experience and reflect on key social topics closely related to sport such as inclusion, healthy lifestyle, and sustainability.

To achieve this ambitious goal, a culturally diverse group was put together, with 16 young volunteers selected from the world of school sport. From April 2nd to 7th, they met in Paris during the ISF WSC Cross-Country organised by the French School Sport Union (UNSS). There, they participated in the traditional ISF activities (ceremonies, cultural festival, and competition as observers), while running a parallel training to get ready for their first implementation in Marrakesh, Morocco, during the Gymnasiade (May 2nd-9th).
Led by two experienced facilitators, they proposed and designed the first “Fun & Skills” zones. In Morocco, all 3000 participants will be invited to visit the Sport Village where the ISF volunteers will run their activities to raise awareness among their peers on inclusion (disability, cultural awareness), sustainability, and healthy lifestyle (including anti-doping). With passion and motivation, they are ready to add “Fun and Skills” to this outstanding event, organised for the first time in Africa.
