During the ISF WSC of Table Tennis in Malta, young volunteers from the Maltese National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO) carried out workshops for participants. They discussed and run interactive activities with the ISF participants to raise awareness on the effects of doping conducts that can sometimes pollute sport and threaten its integrity. More than 100 people among athletes, coaches, and representatives were invited to sign the Anti-Doping pledge and committed to “train HARD and win CLEAN”!

Behind the camera:
On April 9th, 10th and 11th April 2018, the Tal-Qroqq Main Hall, Msida, was crowded with excited table tennis players, bats, and focused referees. Among this happy family, a team of green-T-shirts young volunteers was observing and waiting for their opportunity to interview the participants.
This ISF event was the occasion for Sports School Federation and Malta Sports Journalists Association to work together on the organisation of the first Young Reporters Project in Malta. Students were given a taste of sport journalism by doing the job behind the cameras. Coming from three different schools (state, independent, and church), the young reporters all had the possibility to watch the games, comment and report on them afterwards, as well as to interview the players. Special Olympics student-athletes were also invited to take part in the project.
Facilitated by one PE teacher, and followed by a cameraman, this project provided 12 students with the opportunity to be part of the action, by writing their questions, and directly exchanging with the ISF participants during the competition. Every day, they contributed to the writing of the Daily Bulletin that is distributed to all participants, and they left the hall with new valuable competences to continue their sport journalists’ journey.
