ISF in cooperation with its members continues with an organisation of the online sport activities which support and motivate youth to stay active and healthy, and keep practicing school sport while at home due to Covid-19 regulations.
In August, 484 young athletes joined the ISF World Schools Taekwondo Poomsae Virtual Championship 2020, organised by Nepal School Sport Federation under approval of the ISF.
Twenty countries from four continents participated in the event. 254 boys and 230 girls athletes, aged 12-17, submitted three poomsae videos for three rounds of competition: preliminary, semi-final and final. The participants were divided into eight different categories: Colour belt (12-14), Colour belt (15-17), Poom/Dan (12-14) and Poom/Dan (15-17), male and female division for each category.
The competition was held under the World Taekwondo Poomsae rules.

Since most of the international sport events have been postponed or cancelled, online sport activities are in the spotlight with an aim of keeping athletes and students safe, active, healthy and motivated to keep practicing their chosen sport. Throughout April and May, ISF ran an ISF Stay Active campaign which gathered 65 participants, including four Olympians, from 28 countries and four continents.
ISF World Schools Taekwondo Poomsae Virtual Championship 2020 was a great way to motivate the young taekwondo athletes to stay active and participate in the virtual international sport event from the safety and comfort of their home.
