18th ISF Gymnasiade Test Event held at Jinjiang Youth Sports School on 27 May

From 27 to 29 May the 2021 Quanzhou Youth Athletics Championship and third test event for the 18^th ISF Gymnasiade Jinjiang 2020 was held at Jinjiang Youth Sports School Stadium.

The event was hosted by the Quanzhou Municipal Sports Bureau and Quanzhou Municipal Education Bureau, organised by the 18th ISF Gymnasiade Executive Committee General Office and co-organised by the affiliated Athletics Sports Management Committee. A total of 9 teams from 9 counties under the jurisdiction of Quanzhou brought 585 athletes from across region to take part in the competition, including Jinjiang, Nan'an, Hui'an, Anxi, Yongchun, Dehua, Shishi, Fengze and Quanzhou Taiwanese investment zone.

Officiating the event were 154 technical officials, 10 of which were International Technical Officials (ITO) sent by China School Sport Federation (CSSF). The Jinjiang delegation, led by Wu Jiancai, principal of Jinjiang Youth Sports School, brought 129 athletes in total, and was the largest participating delegation present. The top three places in team events and all ranking points will be carried forward, contributing to the delegations’ total score at the 12th edition of Quanzhou Municipal Games, thus it was indeed an important occasion for all participating teams.

The event was seperated into several age categories, including youth group (born between 1 January 2004 and 31 December 2005), 15-year-old group (born between 1 January 2006 and 31 December 2006), 14-year-old group (born between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2007), 13-year-old group (born between 1 January 2008 and 31 December 2008) and 12-year-old group (born after 1 January 2009). The events included 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 5000m, 100m hurdles, 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, high jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, javelin, pentathlon, heptathlon and 4 x 100m relay.
